Tropical Storm Lorenzo forms

Lorenzo is 12th named storm of Atlantic hurricane season

MIAMI – Tropical Storm Lorenzo, the twelfth named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season, formed Monday evening.

At 11 p.m., Lorenzo was about 685 miles east-southeast of Bermuda with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph. It was moving northeast at 9 mph.

Forecasters expected Lorenzo to turn toward the east-northeast Tuesday. Some strengthening was possible with weakening likely by Wednesday.
