MELBOURNE, Fla. – There was a dramatic rescue on the Indian River early Friday in Brevard County when a couple was saved from their sinking houseboat.
Melbourne police say the boat started taking on water in rough surf and rescuers were forced to break out windows to get to the 81-year-old man and 76-year-old woman.
Both were taken to the hospital and are expected to be OK.
