Major changes are coming to the University of Central Florida College of Business.

The undergraduate student services office is being eliminated, and that means six academic advisors are losing their jobs.

Dean Paul Jarley tells Local 6, the layoffs were announced on Monday.

"The best thing we can do for the affected people is to make sure that at the end of the day we have better services than we had before that's honoring them, in my view," he said.

The positions are being replaced with "career coaches" who will work in the Office of Professional Development, which will evolve over the next two years.

Jarley says the employees he's letting go can apply for those positions, and he hopes to fill them in the next 30 days.
