ORLANDO, Fla. – Fans wanting to get their hands on gear commemorating University of Central Florida's Fiesta Bowl win find themselves having to wait an extra day.
Printers creating special shirts, hats and other items held off on printing them until they found out who won the game, which was late Wednesday night.
"They don't print them until after they win," said Jacki Fausnight, owner of Gator, Seminole, Knight Fever in Orlando. "They print the boys' (players'), and then they wait and print everyone else's after they win."
Fausnight's employees started taking calls as soon as her store opened for business on Thursday. Each caller wanted to know when they would be able to buy their UCF shirts.
As soon as the overnight packages were delivered, workers at Gator, Seminole, Knight Fever in Orlando said they pulled shirts for those who reserved them before the game.
The store owner said she didn't get everything she ordered.
Even online retailers needed overnight to deliver the items.
Nike.com sold out of their "Good Knight" shirts by 10 a.m. on Thursday.
Fausnight's store and several others are having their items overnighted from Nike's headquarters in Beaverton, Ore., where she made sure she pre-ordered her shipment before they ran out.
UCF fans can also get Peterbrooke Chocolatier's chocolate molded into footballs with an edible UCF logo on them to celebrate the big win.
