UCF student hit, killed by car

Brandon Howard was an aspiring rapper

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – University of Central Florida officials confirm a student was struck and killed by a car while walking near campus Friday night.

A university spokesman said Brandon Howard, a student in the College of Sciences, was killed in the accident just days before classes were set to start.

Student media organization Knight News reports Howard was an aspiring rapper and pre-med student. He was a former member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity.

Local 6 went by the fraternity's house and was told by members they were too emotional to make a statement about Howard's death.

Howard's Facebook fan page was filled with comments and memories Saturday night. Friends left messages for the student rapper, known by his stage name A.T.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident, but no further updates were available Saturday night.
