TAMPA, Fla. -

University of South Florida police officers are searching for a possible gunman on campus.

Authorities say police received a call at around 1:40 p.m. Friday from a person saying they saw a man jump a fence with a weapon. About a half hour later, campus officials put an alert on the school's website and sent text messages, saying that students, faculty and visitors should avoid the area near the USF Health complex.

The complex has been evacuated and police are searching the building.
