Verizon is warning customers about a scam that poses as the company and offers subscribers money for overpaid bills.
According to CBS News, the scam promises $54 via voicemail to customers who visit a new website. The phone number looks legitimate, and so does the website.
The website asks for a Verizon username, password and credit card information. While it looks real, the website is actually a ploy that steals personal information.
Verizon is aware of the scam and says it has shutdown the website.
