ORLANDO, Fla. – The victim of an attack at a downtown Orlando ATM relived the scary moments with Local 6 Tuesday.

Abbey, a 23-year-old University of Central Florida senior, was robbed and carjacked two weeks ago in the middle of the day at the Bank of America on Orange Avenue.

"It can happen to anybody at anytime, and I think that's the scariest part about it," Abbey said.

She said she was trying to deposit cash into the ATM when a man approached her with his hand underneath his shirt. She said the man implied he had a gun and demanded $500.

The bank's surveillance video shows Abbey running away while the man tries to get money out. He then ran after her and what happens next wasn't caught by the bank's surveillance camera.

"Right as I'm about to lock my car, he swings my car door open and tries to get into the car while I'm still in the car," she said.

The camera eventually pans over, catching Abbey and her friend struggling to get out of her 2007 Volkswagen Beetle. Both girls were nearly dragged as the man backed out of the parking space before driving off.

"That's the scariest part. In his mind he's like, 'Oh, I might take these two 23, 22-year-old girls with me,' and that just freaks me out," she said.

Orlando police said there have been three robberies at the same Bank of America ATM in the past month, all by the same man.

The most recent was Sunday and in that attack the man stole the victim's Subaru, police said. Both her car and Abbey's car were found Tuesday and taken in for fingerprints.

Police are still looking for the man, who is described as black, 30 to 45 years old, standing 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall, with a stocky build.

Anyone with information on the man's whereabouts or identity is asked to contact Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
