Volusia County 911 dispatcher quits after suspension, arrest
Supervisor accused of using phone while trainee made mistake
The Volusia County 911 dispatcher suspended from her job, and later arrested on assault charges, has quit her job.
The sheriff's office said Shauna Justice submitted her resignation Thursday.
Justice was suspended from her job in November. An internal investigation showed she was using her cell phone at the same time a trainee she was supposed to be watching sent emergency crews to the wrong address of a man suffering a heart attack. The man later died.
Justice was arrested after investigators say she pulled a gun on a reporter who had gone to her home to ask about what happened on the job.
Justice is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
