ORANGE CITY, Fla. -

A Volusia County Jail corrections officer was arrested on two counts of possession of child pornography after a three-hour standoff on Tuesday at his Orange City home.

Deputies said 32-year-old Mark Pronovost barricaded himself at 8 a.m. after Florida Department of Law Enforcement served a search warrant at 347 Orange Avenue. He surrendered just after 11 a.m.

Pronovost, who is the son of the former Volusia County jail warden, was arrested on two counts of child pornography. Deputies said Pronovost was cooperating with authorities when he suddenly took his 1-year-old son and ran back inside his house.

FDLE had collected evidence a computer in his possession had downloaded child porn and went to serve search warrant this morning

Authorities evacuated a few of the homes nearby as a precaution, according to deputies.

Pronovost won't face any charges for the standoff itself because he never threatened anyone or his children. Pronovost is married and has three children, ages 7, 4 and 1.

He won't not be booked into Volusia jail because of safety concerns since he works there.
