Wal-Mart recalls 174K potentially hazardous baby dolls

Doll defect can cause burns, blisters

ORLANDO, Fla. – Nearly 175,000 potentially hazardous baby dolls have been recalled by Wal-Mart.

The My Sweet Love / My Sweet Baby Cuddle Care Baby Doll after 12 incident reports were made to Wal-Mart, which sells the toy exclusively.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, a circuit board in the doll's chest can overheat, causing the surface of the doll to get hot and pose a burn hazard for the user. Two of the incidents reported included burns or blisters.

The dolls have been sold nationwide in Walmart stores nationwide since August 2012 for $20, and consumers who return the toy to any Walmart store will receive a full refund.
