PALM BAY, Fla. -

The Walmart in Palm Bay was evacuated Thursday afternoon because of a suspicious package, but the store was later given the all-clear, police said.

The store and the parking area of the Malabar Road store were evacuated, said Palm Bay police, who described the package as a cardboard box wrapped with tape.

The box was found outside the front entrance of the store near the grocery area, police said.

The Brevard County Sheriffs Office bomb squad was called to the scene and later cleared the package, which was deemed not to be a threat.

It's not known who left the package at the store.

No other details have been released.
