Walmart starts grocery pickup at some Central Florida locations

Walmart to double number of locations with pickup service

ORLANDO, Fla. – It's the closest thing to drive-thru grocery shopping, and Walmart customers in Orlando are asking for more.

A convenient pick-up service at Walmart stores offers shoppers the option of filling up their carts online, selecting a preferred time slot, and driving up to receive their groceries without ever leaving their cars.

After opening four pick-up locations in the Orlando area, Walmart will double the number of locations with the service. Shoppers at the store on East Colonial Drive said they prefer the drive-up service over other delivery options.

"I thought it was a great idea because they don't charge for the extra pickup that most every other place does," said Kristin Alberts of Orlando.

"The customers asked for more locations and based on feedback we got from the customers we added this location also," said Brian Marsh, Central Florida Market Coach for Grocery Pickup.

The service requires a $30 minimum purchase and has to be ordered by 10 a.m in order to guarantee same-day pick up. Customers can pickup groceries from 8 a.m to 8 p.m.
