Warmup begins in Central Florida

Rain possible on Mother's Day in Orlando area

ORLANDO, Fla. – After a great couple of days this week in Central Florida, the trend continues.

There will be lots of sunshine in the Orlando area on Wednesday, with the high temperature reaching 84 degrees.

"High pressure leads to more sunshine into Friday," said Local 6 meteorologist Troy Bridges.

Temperatures warm into the 90s later in the week, but rain chances return for Mother's Day weekend.

"Central Florida can expect a 20 percent chance for rain on Saturday and a 30 percent chance for rain on Sunday," Bridges said.

Saturday's high will be 90, and Sunday's high will be 88 degrees.
