WASHINGTON, D.C. – A dramatic rescue unfolded Tuesday night on a busy road in Washington, D.C.
Police responded to reports of a car crash with an injury, but they arrived to find a fiery and dangerous situation.

Video captured on one of the officer's body cameras showed first responders as they rushed to the vehicle, which was on fire.
"I believe there is one inside," one of the officers said. "I'm going to break the window right now."
The footage captured the flames getting bigger in the front of the car as officers worked to help the driver inside.
Police said the man was treated and released from a hospital.
The D.C. Police Department tweeted video of the rescue and credited two of its officers for their heroic actions.
