'Aqua Drag Racer' could open Saturday, park officials say

The 65-foot-tall racing slide will send thrill seekers through twists and turns, then down six stories to the finish line.

But for now anticipated park goers will have to wait longer at least for a few days.

"It's something new and exciting and something fresh for the summer. I've been here before so many years and was hoping it was going to be open," Terelle Matthews said Thursday on his way to the park.

Local 6 has learned "Aqua Drag Racer" will be ready very soon and could be open as early as Saturday.

People headed to the water park were disappointed, but they won't have to wait as long as fans who patiently awaited the opening day of "Test Track" at Epcot at Walt Disney World Resort.

The attraction was scheduled to originally open May 1997, but finally opened nearly two years later in March 1999.

As for the attraction we are still waiting for, "Falcons Fury" at Tampa's Busch Gardens has seen set back after set back. Its considered the big summer attraction and we are now hearing it may open soon.

The highly anticipated Universal Harry Potter Diagon Alley was expected to be open by now by people in the industry, but Universal has never promised an exact date just slated it for summer 2014.
