Winter Park attorney suspended by Florida Bar after investigation

Auditor finds Todd Long misused settlement money

WINTER PARK, Fla. – A Winter Park attorney and former congressional candidate has been suspended from practicing law after an investigation found he misused settlement money, according to the Florida Bar.

An auditor found that Todd Long withdrew more than $121,000 from an account and that some of the money went to pay for a hotel and restaurants in the Bahamas, as well as nightclubs in Orlando.

"According to a petition for emergency suspension, Long appeared to be causing great public harm," officials wrote.

Long has been practicing law since 1989 and ran for Congress against Alan Grayson.
