Winter Park bans new fast-food restaurants on Park Avenue

Eateries must now have host or hostess, silverware

WINTER PARK, Fla. - City leaders in Winter Park voted Monday to close a loophole to ensure no more fast-food restaurants open along Park Avenue.

Previously, the city allowed "fine dining" restaurants to be operated on the picturesque roadway, but that included fast-food restaurants that offered table service.

Now, the new rules will require restaurants to have a host or hostess and use real plates and silverware.

Existing fast-food restaurants already along Park Avenue will be grandfathered in to the new city ordinance.
