Winter Springs High School student removed from bus by police over Facebook threat, officials say
Classmates report online threat to school officials
Longwood police pulled a school bus en route to Winter Springs High school over and removed a student after receiving a report of a possible online threat against a schoolmate, officials said.
Dr. Mike Blasewick, of the Seminole County School Board, says students reported to officials that a classmate at Winter Springs High threatened another student with a gun and posted it to Facebook.
School officials alerted police, and Longwood officers pulled the bus over around 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
The student was escorted off the bus, but no weapon was located, Blasewick said.
Winter Springs High School will discipline the student, officials said.
The Winter Springs Police Department was informed of the incident.
