Winter storm affecting flights at Orlando International Airport

Millions in northeast face huge winter storm as OIA sees delays

ORLANDO, Fla. – Millions in the northeast are bearing down for a huge winter storm.

Some areas are expected to get a foot of snow while some cities have already declared states of emergency and it's already causing some travel trouble here in Central Florida.

There were some delays at Orlando International Airport on New Year's Day and many more arrival flights continued to change their flight times by 10 or 15 minutes at a time.

For Rebecca Ballinger those small increments kept adding up. She was waiting on her friend to fly in from New York so they could catch a flight to Puerto Rico, but the flight was delayed by an hour.

"She was supposed to come in on Jet Blue at 10:56 p.m. but now it says 11:52 p.m. and it just changed from 11:45," Ballinger told Local 6. "I have no hope that she'll make it on time."
