According to the FHP, Escobedo was driving a 2010 four-door Nissan westbound on S.R. 528 when, for an unknown reason, she struck the rear of a 1997 GMC pickup truck driven by 38-year-old Jared Allison, of Cocoa.

The crash sent Escobedo's car off the road, and the vehicle struck a tree, troopers said.  She was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center and later was pronounced dead.

The pickup overturned, but Allison only suffered minor injuries, troopers said.

An investigation is ongoing.
