ORLANDO, Fla. – The attorney for a woman accused of murder in the death of Brevard County Sheriff's Deputy Barbara Pill has filed a motion asking a judge to set bond, and give the woman a chance to get out of jail as reported by Local 6 partner Florida Today.

Andria Kerchner, 20, and Brandon Bradley, 22, are each accused of murder, robbery and other charges in the March 6 events that led to Pill's death. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Bradley, who is charged with first-degree premeditated murder.

Both cases came up before Brevard Circuit Judge Morgan Reinman this morning and next court dates were set for October. The suspects did not appear.

Court papers show that Michael Bross, hired to represent Kerchner, is asking Reinman to set bond in her case.

The motion says that Kerchner, if able to post bond and be released, would live with her mom in Melbourne and "abide by strict conditions and (be) monitored by her mother on a daily basis." She would also work toward her GED at Brevard Community College, the motion says.

A hearing to address the motion has been set for Aug. 1.

Another hearing for both suspects is scheduled later in August. Steve Pill, the deputy's widower, has filed a motion via his attorney to intervene in the release of video that shows his wife's death. A similar motion was filed by county attorneys on behalf of Sheriff Jack Parker.

The video is presumably from Barbara Pill's camera mounted on the dashboard of her patrol vehicle. Pill stopped a white SUV she suspected was connected to a robbery when the driver shot her five times, including in the head.

A judge previously ruled that that footage would not be released.
