Woman bitten in dog attack in Orlando

Husband uses baseball bat to chase off bulldog

ORLANDO, Fla. – A woman walking her two dogs and 1-year-old child in Orlando was bitten when an American bulldog got loose and attacked one of her pets.

The attack happened Friday morning on Barberry Drive near Old Winter Garden and South Apopka Vineland roads.

Animal Services officials said the woman was pushing a stroller when the bulldog got loose from a neighbor's home and attacked her Cocker Spaniel named Peanut, injuring the dog.  Her Chihuahua, Butter, was not injured.

The woman helped Peanut get free, but the bulldog bit her on the thigh, said officials, who added that the woman suffered minor injuries, including a bloody lip.

Officials said the woman's husband chased the bulldog off with a baseball bat.

Animal Services officials removed the American bulldog from the home.

No other information was immediately known.
