ORLANDO, Fla. - The Alabama boy held hostage in an underground bunker may be soon making a trip to Disney World, thanks to an online fundraiser.
"It's all about him, this is all for him," said Carrie Kreps of Alabama.
Kreps set up a fundraiser, "Send Ethan to Disney World," on "Gofundme.com" and in one day, strangers donated more than $7,000.
"One of the earliest people that donated was from London, that was pretty cool," she said.
Kreps says she reached out to Ethan's mom, who was accepting of the idea.
"She accepted our offer, so once we got word that she was accepting of what we wanted to do for them, we knew we could run with it, and that's what we did," she said.
After hearing about the fundraiser, managers at the Hilton in the Walt Disney World Resort have offered a week long stay to Ethan and his family.
The city had planned a vigil at Napier Field Town Hall Tuesday night, which turned into a celebration for Ethan's 6th birthday on Wednesday.
He was freed Monday after being hostage underground for six days. Two bombs were discovered Tuesday inside that bunker where an FBI team rescued the 5-year-old boy from his kidnaper, Jimmy Lee Dykes, authorities said.
