Man shoots ex-wife during fight in Orlando karaoke bar, police say

Tu Quoc Ho faces attempted murder charge

ORLANDO, Fla. – A man shot his ex-wife early Friday during an argument in an Orlando karaoke bar, according to police.

The shooting was reported at 12:30 a.m. at Thanh Thao Karaoke at 1212 Woodward St. near Colonial Drive and Mills Avenue.

Tu Quoc Ho, 43, was arrested on charges of attempted second-degree murder with a firearm, aggravated battery with a firearm, tampering with evidence and domestic violence battery.

An arrest affidavit said the woman was shot four times in the chest at very close range. She was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, and police said she suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Her condition is not known.

Police were called to the bar and found Ho, who was arrested. According to the affidavit, Ho denied shooting his ex-wife and referred to her as his current wife.

The woman told police, however, that she co-owns the bar with Ho, and they got into an argument about the business, according to the affidavit. The woman said Ho punched her in the head and shot her, according to officials.

Witnesses said they were having a good time at the bar when a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt came in and injured the woman, the affidavit said. Witnesses would not specify to police what happened, officials said.

A sign on the door of the business said "private party," but specifics about the gathering are not known.

Video recorded at the scene shows furniture scattered inside the bar, with trash on the floor.

Orlando police tweeted video of officers walking Ho to jail.
