Eric Wilson joined the Local 6 News as the morning meteorologist on January 14, 2007.

Eric is a native of Davis, Calif., but as the son of an Air Force Officer he was always on the move as a child.

His father, Dr. Robert Eric Wilson, served in both the Navy and Air Force in his more than 20 year career. A chiropractor for the years after his service, he died February 2009 from a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Eric joined the Air Force himself in 1988 and took a part time job at KXMC, a local radio and television station in Minot, N.D. Once discharged from the service, he received a diploma as a broadcast meteorologist from Mississippi University. He moved to Buffalo, N.Y. in 1996 and worked at WGRZ in Buffalo until 2000.

Eric moved on to WDIV in Detroit from 2000 to 2008, where he spent mornings in the Motor City and adopted the Tigers as his favorite team.

Eric currently resides in Lake Mary with his wife, Michelle, 3-year-old son Aidan and their German shepherd, Einstein.
