Colts Without Several Big Names At Practice
POSTED: Thursday, October 29, 2009
Indianapolis, IN -- (Sports Network) - The Indianapolis Colts were without a slew of regulars at practice Thursday on both sides of the ball, most notably wide receiver Reggie Wayne and defensive end Dwight Freeney.Wayne tweaked his groin in last weekend's rout of the Rams and Freeney is dealing with a balky knee. Neither has practiced this week, although both are expected to suit up come Sunday's game against San Francisco. Running back Donald Brown, who suffered a sprained shoulder in the second quarter versus St. Louis, is not expected to be healthy enough to go this week. Defensive back Marlin Jackson continues to be hampered by a knee injury and may miss a third straight game having also sat out practice on Wednesday and Thursday. Also sidelined for Indy's practice session Thursday was defensive tackle Eric Foster (shoulder), safety Bob Sanders (rest) and wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez (knee). Gonzalez is working his way back to the practice field after suffering ligament damage in Week 1. It was earlier reported he could start practicing by the end of the week.
