Keira Knightley Sues Over Anorexia Suggestion
POSTED: Tuesday, January 23, 2007
NEW YORK -- Keira Knightley is suing a British tabloid that suggested she had lied about having anorexia. The Daily Mail printed a story about a girl who died of anorexia and used a photo of Knightley, 21, in a bikini to illustrate it. Knightley has said several times that she does not have an eating disorder. Her lawyer told Teen People magazine that Knightley will "argue that the Mail's article suggests that she has dishonestly sought to mislead the public about whether she has anorexia or similar eating disorder and will show that she does not have anorexia."The magazine reported that last year at the premiere for "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest," Knightley denied that she suffers from anorexia. "I don't have it. I'm very sure I don't have it," the magazine reported Knightley said. "I've got a lot of experience with anorexia. It was in my family hugely. My grandmother and my great grandmother suffered from it. And I've got a lot of friends at school who suffered from it. So I don't think it's anything to be taken lightly."
