Orange County deputies comfort pit bulls stranded on street

Dogs available for adoption through Orange County Animal Services

ORLANDO, Fla. – Two dogs have a new leash on life thanks to the kind hearts of two Orange County Sheriff deputies.

In a post on the sheriff's office Facebook page, pictures show the deputies comforting the animals who appeared to be in distress.

The caption read that Deputy Boggs and Deputy Reed discovered the dogs in late October frightened and alone in the middle of the road along South Orange and Oakridge Avenues. Deputies said one of the dogs was injured.

According to the post, a bystander took photos and sent them to the sheriff's office. The bystander said the deputies stood by with the dogs until Orange County Animal Services arrived.

The pictures show deputies going above the call of duty to help man's best friend which has not gone unnoticed on social media. The pictures have gained the attention of thousands of people.

Orange County Animal Services has named the pit bulls Liberty and Justice. The dogs are in isolation while they recover from some minor injuries but they are both available for adoption.

Liberty is a 2-year-old brown-and-white female. She's heartworm positive and weighs 54 pounds. You can find information about her here

Justice is a 2-year-old fawn-and-white female. She weighs 45 pounds. More information about her is available here

An Orange County Animal Services spokeswoman said both dogs are energetic but Liberty is more affectionate and sweet while Justice is more playful and active.
