Recession Prevents Some From Keeping Animals
POSTED: Monday, June 22, 2009
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Many pet owners are getting rid of their animals because they can no longer afford to keep them, prompting a Central Florida boy to help.
Zach Wilson founded the Central Florida Animal Pantry, holding fundraisers -- such as dog washes -- and collecting thousands of pounds of pet food for owners dealing with the recession.
Anyone interested in benefitting from or helping with Wilson's cause can visit
