Ruths' Called Shot, Game 3, 1932
With Game 3 tied at 4-4, legend has it that Babe Ruth stepped up to the plate in the fifth inning and pointed his bat at Cubs pitcher Charlie Root. The slugger then pointed his bat towards the center-field fence. Moments he sent the ball soaring over the center-field fence for a home run to help the Yankees to a 7-5 victory.

Mays' Catch, Game 1, 1954
Willie Mays made an over-the-shoulder grab in the eighth inning to keep Game 1 between the Giants and Indians tied at 1-1. The Giants ended up winning the game 5-3 in 10 innings and swept the series.

Larsen's Perfect Game, Game 5, 1956
Don Larsen threw a perfect game to give the New York Yankees a 3-2 series lead over Brooklyn. The Yankees eventually clinched the World Series title in Game 7.

Mazeroski's Home Run, Game 7, 1960
Bill Mazeroski blasted a home run over the left-field wall in Game 7 to lift the Pirates over the Yankees 10-9. The victory gave Pittsburgh its first World Series crown in 35 years.

Fisk's Extra-Inning Home Run, Game 6, 1975
Carlton Fisk hit a home run to force a Game 7 between the Reds and the Red Sox. Fisk and Boston lost the series in the decisive game.

Jackson's Three Home Runs, Game 6, 1977
Reggie Jackson, aka "Mr. October," hit three home runs to give the Yankees a 8-4 win over the Dodgers. New York won the series in six games.

Buckner's Error, Game 6, 1986
Bill Buckner, also called "Billy Buck," made a costly error in Game 6 of the World Series when he let a ball roll through his legs at first base. The error allowed the Mets to score the winning run, forcing a Game 7, where New York won to claim the World Series crown.

Gibson's Walk-Off Homer Run, Game 1, 1988
Kirk Gibson hit a pinch-hit two-run home run off Dennis Eckersley to give the Dodgers a 5-4 Game 1 victory over the Oakland A's.

The Earthquake Series, Game 3, 1989
The 1989 World Series, contested between the Oakland Athletics and the San Francisco Giants, was delayed 10 days when the Loma Prieta earthquake occurred at the start of Game 3. The A's completed a sweep of the Giants when play resumed more than a week later.

Morris Throws 10 Scoreless Innings, Game 7, 1991
Twins pitcher Jack Morris threw 10 scoreless innings to help Minnesota clinch a 1-0 victory over the Atlanta Braves to win the World Series. Morris was named the World Series MVP for his efforts.

Carter's Series-Winning Home Run, Game 6, 1993
Joe Carter hit a home run to lift the Toronto Blue Jays over the Philadelphia Phillies and clinch the World Series title.

Clemens Throws Bat At Piazza, Game 2, 2000
The 2000 World Series, aka The Subway Series because it pitted New York rivals the Yankees and the Mets against each other, heated up in Game 2. Already at odds entering the series, tension grew between Roger Clemens and Mike Piazza when in the first inning Piazza's broken bat flew back to the mound, towards Clemens. The hurler picked it up and threw it at Piazza, who was running towards first base. The bat chunk landed about two feet away from the Mets' catcher. The two exchanged words, the benches cleared -- although no punches were thrown -- and play was delayed about two minutes. Clemens later admitted the incident was his fault.

Dusty Baker's Son Almost Gets Runover, Game 5, 2002
Considered a good-luck charm, the Giants insisted on having manager Dusty Baker's 3-year-old son, Darren, in the clubhouse during the World Series. He got an up-close look at the action in Game 5 when Darren approached home plate to collect Kenny Lofton's bat after the slugger hit a triple. He was quickly met at home by J.T. Snow, who had crossed the plate to score. Snow then quickly grabbed Darren and got him out of the way before he was hit by David Bell, who was rounding third and heading for home.

Schilling's Bloody Sock, Game 2, 2004
Despite suffering from a ruptured tendon that doctors sewed a wall of stitches into to hold in place, Boston pitcher Curt Schilling pitched in Game 2 of the 2004 World Series. Schilling, whose sock was soaked with blood, earned the victory in his outing and gave the Red Sox a 2-0 lead in its series sweep over St. Louis. Boston's victory marked its first World Series title in 86 years.
