MONTPELIER, Vt. -- How much money is fifty years of loyalty to the New York Yankees worth? Will Forest, an entrepreneur in Vermont, will soon find out.

He is selling his loyalty to the "Bronx Bombers" on eBay.

Forest grew up in New Jersey and said his grandfather was a huge Yankees fan. He moved to Vermont about 25 years ago, and continued his loyalty to the Yankees.

It was after Joe Torre rejected an offer to return to the Yankees recently that this Vermonter decided that he too needed to part ways with the team.

"It's the best way I can make a statement to the Yankees management for the undignified way they treated a dignified man, who did a fabulous job," Forest said.

He does work on eBay daily, at his business Sur Al Norte in Montpelier, and that's why he said he decided to sell his loyalty online.

Along with the loyalty, the winning bidder will also receive Forest's 30-year-old Yankees jacket.

They'll also get to choose the team he throws all of his loyalty to next.

So, what if that means he must convert to a Red Sox fan? "The Red Sox would be fine. I would even accept a ticket to the World Series," said Forest.

He won't make any money off the deal, he said. The winning eBay bidder will directly pay "Compassion Without Borders," an organization that rescues animals in Mexico. "It's for a good cause, it's for charity, it's not to put something in my pocket," Forest said.

The eBay bid closes on Oct. 30. That's when Forest will officially become a former Yankees fan. Just before Game 7, if needed, of the World Series in Boston.
