Magic Players Discuss Season, Future

Hedo Turkoglu Says He Wants To Stay With Magic -- For Right Money

Two days after losing to the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals, Orlando Magic players talked to the media, discussing this past season and what the future holds.

Among the biggest questions for the Magic is forward Hedo Turkoglu, who reiterated on Tuesday that he will opt out of his contract, but he said that he wants to remain with the team -- if the money is right.

Turkoglu described the situation as a business decision, and he will likely command about $50 million over five years.

Most of the Magic players said this past season was a success, although it ended in disappointment.

"We've come a long way. This city, this town, my team," Dwight Howard said. "There's no reason to hold our heads down. I'm very happy, but I'm not satisfied with second place."

Howard was asked about expanding his game on offense and replied that everyone knows what he needs to do to become a better player. Howard said he will go on vacation and won't touch a basketball for a couple of weeks before preparing for next season.

"The bar was set higher because we got to the finals this year," Rashard Lewis said. "But coach (Stan Van Gundy) said just because we had a good year doesn't mean it's just going to be handed to us. We'll still have to work like we did this year to get back. It's going to be a lot tougher."
