Coach K Expected Back For Team USA

POSTED: Wednesday, July 8, 2009

(Sports Network) - Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski, who led the U.S. men's basketball team to a gold medal in Beijing last summer, is reportedly going to remain at the helm for Team USA going toward the 2012 London Games.

The Boston Globe, citing sources close to the situation, said Krzyzewski will be back and that an announcement is expected at a press conference in Las Vegas prior to a USA Basketball mini-camp featuring young prospects for the national team on July 22-25.

The 62-year-old Krzyzewski would reportedly also coach the U.S. national team at the 2010 World Championships in Turkey.

The Globe also reported, Krzyzewski's coaching staff, which includes Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni, Blazers coach Nate McMillan and Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim, is expected to return.
