Judge In UCF Wrongful Death Suit Steps Down

George O'Leary's Deposition Delayed

POSTED: Thursday, March 11, 2010
UPDATED: 6:41 pm EST March 11, 2010

The judge overseeing a wrongful death lawsuit against the University of Central Florida has stepped down.

Attorneys for the family of former UCF football player Erek Plancher asked the judge to recuse herself because her husband has ties to the university's athletics program.

Plancher died in March 2008 after an offseason conditioning workout on campus.

Circuit Judge Robert Evans has taken over the case, but because of the switch, the deposition of head coach George O'Leary has been delayed indefinitely.
