New England Patriots veteran running back Kevin Faulk was admittedly devastated when he learned that he would not be active for Super Bowl XLVI.

With the contest versus the New York Giants possibly being his last of his NFL career, Faulk told NESN that he cried upon being informed that he was not going to play.

"That morning when I got the word that I wasn't go to dress - wow," Faulk told NESN Daily.

"(I) cried a little bit because 75 percent of me knew that this could possibly be my last game playing - not playing just dressing. If I dressed there could possibly be that much of a chance that I could play, so that really crushed me a whole lot."

Faulk, who has played 13 seasons with the Patriots, played seven games this campaign after tearing his ACL last year.
