Recap: Flames 5, Coyotes 4
Flames 5, Coyotes 4: Captain Jarome Iginla and Curtis Glencross scored 23 seconds apart late in the third period to erase a deficit and lift host Calgary to its second win in as many nights.
With Phoenix 1:23 away from victory, Iginla forged a 3-3 tie when he converted a cross-crease pass from Alex Tanguay for his second goal of the game and third of the season. Glencross beat Mike Smith with a one-timer from the top of the slot with exactly one minute remaining, giving the Flames an improbable comeback triumph.
Tim Jackman and Mike Cammalleri also scored, Glencross added an assist and Joey MacDonald made 23 saves for Calgary, which posted a 3-1 home victory over Minnesota on Saturday.
Raffi Torres tallied twice, defenseman Michael Stone and Nick Johnson each scored a goal and Smith stopped 26 shots for the Coyotes, who failed to earn a point for just the second time in seven games (4-2-1).
Stone was credited with a power-play goal 5 1/2 minutes into the second when Flames defenseman Jay Bouwmeester inadvertently kicked the puck into his own net and Torres netted his first of the game for a 2-1 lead before Iginla and Cammalleri scored 2:59 apart late in the session to put Calgary ahead. Torres tied it early in the third and Johnson buried a rebound at 8:48 to give the Coyotes a 4-3 edge.
