The New York Jets fire sale that saw them cut five players and save over $30 million in salary cap space this week is not over. The team will attempt to trade backup quarterback Tim Tebow during the NFL Scouting Combine this weekend, reports ESPN.com. The Jets are approximately $5.7 million under the cap. The Jets can not officially trade Tebow until March 12 and hopes some team will make a deal for the third-year quarterback. If they are unable to deal him, the team will most likely release him, the report says. Tebow is scheduled to earn $2.5 million next season. The team traded for Tebow last offseason but didn’t get much from him on the field. Tebow completed six of eight passes for 39 yards and ran 32 times for 102 yards.
