Maxx Tissenbaum and Tanner Nivins each drove in two runs to lead a balanced attack for Stony Brook in a 12-5 win over UCF on Sunday night to force a final game in the Coral Gables Regional.
Travis Jankowski had three hits, including a triple, and Jasvir Rakkar (6-2) pitched six innings for fourth-seeded Stony Brook, which has won 25 of 27.
Both teams are in pursuit of their first regional title after tournament host and top seed Miami was knocked out after two games.
All nine hitters for Stony Brook (49-12) recorded a hit. The Seawolves led 4-1 in the third and stretched their lead to 7-1 in the fourth. UCF scored three in the seventh to pull within 8-5, but were unable to pull any closer and the Seawolves tacked on four more.
Eric Skoglund (5-3) allowed six runs — three earned — in 3 1-3 innings.
