Wizards won't have Ariza, Nene or Webster on Monday vs. Memphis
Coach Randy Wittman told forward Trevor Ariza to take Monday morning off as the Wizards had a light practice before playing the Memphis Grizzlies, but it didn't help. The Wizards' sixth man will miss his second game in a row because of the flu. He last played vs. the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday when he made a career-high seven three-pointers in a 103-100 victory. Center Emeka Okafor had missed action because of the flu on the four-game road trip, too. “It’s been going around. There’s been some teams that’s been short-handed with that,” Wittman said before practice as snow and ice fell outside Verizon Center. “It’s kind of like the weather. It usually doesn't snow in March but here we are.” Starting power forward Nene, who has admitted struggles with various ailments to his shoulder and legs, and small forward Martell Webster (abdomen) are not playing, either. Nene has a sore right knee.
