Former Steeler, Orlando native Max Starks holds annual camp Saturday

ORLANDO, Fla. – Max Starks grew up near the Citrus Bowl in the Parramore neighborhood of Orlando.

He became a Super Bowl champion with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Starks loves his hometown. He loves it so much he gives back year-after-year.

Starks, who is now retired from the NFL and living in Arizona, is back home this weekend. He's holding his 10th annual Built Ford Tough Youth Football Camp on Saturday.

Starks stopped by News 6 Friday, along with his former Steeler teammate, Charlie Batch. They'll teach kids football at Lake Highland Prep, but that's not all.

Starks' mom, Elleanor, always encouraged him to read, so he does the same thing with his campers.

Over the last decade, Starks has given away 20,000 books to the kids who come to his free camp.
