Nationals 7, Mets 1

NEW YORK -- Washington tied a season high by hitting four home runs, and Doug Fister tossed seven shutout innings as the Nationals beat New York for the ninth consecutive time at Citi Field.

Bryce Harper's two-run homer in the second provided the Nationals the only offense they would need. Washington added five runs in the sixth on a leadoff homer by Anthony Rendon and two-run shots by Ian Desmond and Michael Taylor. It was the first career homer for Taylor, who singled in his first major league at-bat in the second inning.

Fister (12-3) allowed seven hits, walked none and struck out three while beating the Mets for the second time in six days.
