PITTSBURGH -- Right-hander Edinson Volquez hurled six solid innings to reach double figures in victories as Pittsburgh sent Detroit to its fourth consecutive loss.

Volquez (10-7) allowed two runs and five hits to win his second start in a row and for the fourth time in his last five starts at PNC Park. Travis Snider of the Pirates had two hits, including an RBI double. He went 5-for-9 as Pittsburgh swept the two-game series.

Tigers rookie left-hander Robbie Ray (1-2), who was recalled from Triple-A Toledo before the game, took the loss. He lasted five-plus innings and gave up four runs and six hits.
