Gov. Rick Scott weighs in on Justin Bieber arrest

Scott thanks Bieber, other visitors for interest in Florida

PALM BEACH, Fla. – Governor Rick Scott weighed in on the arrest of Justin Bieber, telling reporters the pop star -- like any other visitor -- has to obey the law.

Bieber was arrested in South Florida early Thursday morning on drunken driving and street racing charges.

When reporters approached Scott about Bieber's arrest, the governor refused to talk directly about Bieber. However, he implied that he was thankful for Bieber's interest in visiting the state.

"People want to come to our state," Scott said. "They like all parts of our state. But you come here, you've got to comply with the law."

Bieber was released on bail Thursday afternoon. He is reportedly still in South Florida, staying at a hotel.

Local 6 sister station WPLG reports teenagers dragged their parents out to the hotel late Thursday night, hoping to catch a glimpse of the pop star.
