Mathew Sisca returns to Orlando

Orlando, FL – The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Iowa Wild and Toronto Marlies, announced today that they have agreed to terms with forward Mathew Sicsa and have traded D Joe Marciano to the Bakersfield Condors in exchange for future considerations. Sisca led the Solar Bears in scoring last year with 48 points.

Sicsa (5-8, 175 lbs.) returns to Orlando after leading the team in assists (33) and points (48) in 59 games. He scored the organization's first goal on home ice on October 20, 2012, when the Solar Bears defeated the Florida Everblades 4-3 in 12-round shootout. The 22-year old forward collected three separate four-point games, picking up four assists against Florida on October 19, and two goals and two assists on December 19 and January 25.

The Woodbridge, ON, native earned ECHL All-Rookie Honors in 2011-12, when in 77 games split between the Bakersfield Condors and Cincinnati Cyclones, Sisca tallied 23 goals and 43 assists for 66 points. Those totals ranked him second among all rookies, and he was tied for second in the ECHL with three shorthanded helpers.

Sisca played four seasons in the OHL (Ontario Hockey League) from 2007-2011 with the Niagara IceDogs, Guelph Storm, and Saginaw Spirit, picking up 172 points (71 goals, 101 assists) in 241 games. He was second on his team in goals (35) and fourth in points (65) as a member of the Guelph Storm in 2009-10.
