Solar Bears complete trade for Conner Goggin

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Iowa Wild and Toronto Marlies, announced today that they have acquired defenseman Connor Goggin from the Idaho Steelheads in exchange for future considerations.

Goggin (6-2, 180 lbs.) has played five games for the Idaho Steelheads this season with one assist and six PIM. He played 62 games for the Trenton Titans last seaon, earing 14 points on seven goals and seven assists to go along with 53 PIM. The 24-year old defenseman broke into the professional ranks at the end of the 2011-12 season, playing in 12 games and earing two assists for the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL.

A native of Glen Ellyn, IL, Goggin played four seasons for Dartmouth College (NCAA) which included being selected to the All-Ivy League Second Team in 2011-12. That year, he served as an alternate captain for Dartmouth and posted 17 points (7 goals, 10 assists) in 37 games. Goggin played 123 games in his NCAA career, finishing with 41 points on 14 goals and 27 assists to go along with 165 PIM.

The Solar Bears return to action on home ice on Thursday, November 21, at 7:00 p.m. against the Florida Everblades. Fans are encouraged to donate canned food to the Community Food & Outreach Center upon entering the game. The Solar Bears will then face the Greenville Road Warriors on Tuesday, November 26, at 7:00 p.m. and again for a special 6:00 p.m. start time on Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, November 28.
