New renderings released for Tinker Field History Plaza

Plan to be presented next month

ORLANDO, Fla. – The city of Orlando has released new renderings of the plans for the new Tinker Field History Plaza.

The project will commemorate the more than 100 years of Orlando baseball and social history. The exhibit will include a baseball diamond-inspired memorial on the site of the former ball field, as well as monuments of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and baseball player Clark "The Old Fox" Griffith.

The project will also feature refurbished original stadium seats and a gateway entrance.

Tinker Field was designated as an Orlando historic landmark last year. It will be presented to the Historic Preservation Board early next month.
