Orlando Pride pulls to 1-1 draw against FC Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Orlando Pride pulled to a 1-1 draw Sunday night against FC Kansas City.

The game at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City was the team's second draw of the season.
Marta grabbed her first National Women's Soccer League goal in the second half of the game after a series of opportunities during the match.

“Ninety-nine percent of the time, when you give a player of Marta’s caliber that opportunity, she’s going to put it away," Pride head coach Tom Sermanni said. "The goal was a long time coming and I’m pleased with the pressure we put on Kansas City to create the chance. But overall, I think it’s a disappointing result because I believe we should have walked away with three points from the game."

Orlando returns home for its second match at Orlando City Stadium on Mother's Day, when it will host the North Carolina Courage.

"We still need to capitalize on the opportunities we are given," Sermanni said. "Now we look ahead to hosting a very good North Carolina team next week.”
