The New England Patriots released defensive lineman Marcus Forston and tight end D.J. Williams on Thursday.
Forston, 24, played in three games last season for New England and had three tackles. He spent most of the 2012 and 2013 seasons on the Patriots' practice squad.
Williams, 25, appeared in two regular-season games with the Patriots last season after signing on Nov. 27 and re-signing on Dec. 9. A fifth-round draft pick by Green Bay in 2011, Williams was released by the Packers and spent time last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars before joining the Patriots.
In 35 career NFL games, Williams has made three starts and has nine receptions for 70 yards.
