In the last edition of Friday night football on ClickOrlando.com for the 2011 regular season, ClickOrlando.com traveled to West Orange High to partake in the action that would pit the hosting Warriors against the Cougars of University High.
The action took a while to get hot, but once the stove started burning, the fires could not be put out by either team.
The first half of play went very fast, only taking about an hour to play. Both teams traded blows and points, with West Orange being down 14-12 at the half.
Both teams had contributions from QB's Sean Kelly of West Orange and William Solomon of University connecting with wide receivers twice for touchdown passes.
As the second half progressed, you could feel both teams trying to get the running games going, but to no avail. Jamarkus Frederick West Orange and Deejay Holley of University had a rough night gaining any successful runs. Tonight was about the pass, simple enough.
Vernon Marshall and Garrett Johnson of West Orange led a strong passing attack that would ultimately take over and help Orange win 51-36.
Chip Petree's Warriors finish the season on a three-game winning streak and finish with a record of 7-3.
Don Stark's University squad ended its season with a three-game losing streak, finishing with a record of 4-6.
